Serious Jammage is a blog designed to focus on baseball in general, and the Washington Nationals in particular. We hope you’ll find our analysis salient and our opinions both thoughtful and thought-provoking.
About the Bloggers
Jacob Rasch is a student at a major university near Boston, MA (we’ll leave you to figure out which one). He has had a passion for the game of baseball ever since he stayed up way past his bedtime to watch Game 7 of the 2003 ALCS, and yell at the TV after watching the terrible Yankees win yet another pennant. Born and raised in the District, Jacob’s two favorite baseball memories are his first Nationals’ game (April 16th, 2005; he couldn’t get tickets for Opening Night) and, of course, Game 4 (he’s pretty sure they just decided to cancel the 2012 season after the 3rd inning of Game 5). Jacob has previously worked as a media relations staffer and radio broadcaster for the Aberdeen IronBirds, a short-season A Affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.
Jonny Rasch still lives in the District, and plans on attending at least half of the games on the Nats’ home schedule this season. Jonny fell in love with baseball during the 2004 playoffs, when he jumped on the Red Sox bandwagon along with everyone else. In 2005, he came to his senses, and decided to become one of the RFK faithful, helping make those temporary seats move during that magical first summer. His enthusiasm for baseball is matched only by his enthusiasm for sharing his opinions.
